The 2017 Fall striped bass season continues to provide good to excellent action with a smaller grade of bass but with scaled down light spinning tackle the rod bending fun continues strong with fish up to 30″ !!
The 2018 Fall Fishing continues to get even better with casting a mix of artificial shads and poppers at breaking and swirling striped bass that are in hot pursuit of evasive schools of herring!!
Clouds of birds have finally started pointing their feathery fingers to giveaway the feeding frenzy of late! Double and tripled up anglers have been the norm with angler endurance stand between the sheer numbers that are caught and released . The trolling gear has been stowed while working under the massive bird plays , spinning tackle has been our go to weapon of choice to maximize our anglers experience.
With the weather getting colder there’s no way of telling how long the season can last but for now the action is as hot as it gets!! The 2017 Fall Striped Bass season continues to reward anglers plying our local waters with sizes that range from “Bonus” [ 24-27.999] to 28″+ and “overs” or aka “Trophy” with some days favoring one or the other . When the planets align we are mixing it up between all size categories for our anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea.
Techniques have been trolling a mix of mojo’s [ volume of “smaller” 12lbs – 35lbs bass] and Tony Maja Custom spoons with a heavy leaning toward the spoons for the classier size cows! Live bait and artificials have also scored solid numbers of bass as well!
I have This Friday [ Dec 8th] morning [ 8am- 12pm] and afternoon [ [1pm-5pm] and Sunday [8am-12pm] [ Dec 10th] morning available .

Solid Striped Bass Fishing continues for most trips!!! Some days we turn the corner and we are locked up with solid “under’s” [28″ – to – ?] , some days we find our selves picking through endless amounts of bonus – [ 24″ – 27.9999″] and some days we find ourselves and our drags straining under the pressure of 43″+ striped bass “steaming South” !! What any one day holds adds to the excitement of what the day will allow us to harvest.
All the action has been almost completely striped bass with just a smattering of big slammer blues making the mix on a very rare occasion.

The Striped bass fishing has hit it’s strides with what appears to be the full load of the migration parked in our local waters!! Bass ranging in sizes from 6lbs all the way up into the 40 + lbs + range are on hand and are keeping our anglers busy and having fun!
Big Beastly Slammer blues up to 20 +lbs have also joined the party testing both angler and tackle. Some of these gators are so fat [ how fat are they?] they appear to be as thick as they are long!! Resembling tuna in their generic form.
Whales are also providing fantastic visual excitement while feeding within mere feet of our boat. One of our anglers caught a feeding breaching whale erupting from below on a school of hapless bunker.

Excellent Striped Bass fishing continues to entertain our anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea with tidesd proving it’s relevance as we progress further into the mid Fall stages. Tuesday open boat started off a little slow but as we worked away and patiently kept at it the cows came home!!

The Fall Striped bass has seen it’s up’s and down’s as we have had some solid days and of course have seen some meager catching but it looks like we are right square in the middle of a Bass Slamboree!! The migration has arrived solidly in home waters and are more than willing to test angler skills and our Penn Tackle! Limit to near limit catches have been scored amongst our anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea while empolying both live and artificial presentations. Mild temps. and light wind during our Fall season albeit very pleasant, doesn’t always translate into increased fishing activity and although we did have a brisk uptick in striper activity with striped bass into the upper thirty pound range it didn’t quite progress as hoped.
