Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Barnegat Bay/inlet Fishing Report

Fishing both sides of this weeks Nor’Easter we found the other side of the storm still producing stripers and blues on artificial presentations. Although we had to move around and find the opportunities our anglers aboard did  managed to persevere to land about 10-12 bass with bluefish spicing the catch as well.

I have both Friday morning 6am – 11am and afternoon 130pm – 630pm available. We will be fishing the bay/inlet and ocean targeting striped bass and blues via snag and drop, troll and artificial presentations Call to reserve only – 609-290-1217

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Still on “em thru NE Gale!

Anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea braved building adverse NE Gale condition [ albeit well protected bay confines] but were rewarded with more solid light tackle action scoring about 20 stripers in under 3 hours before heading for the barn with conditions worsening.

Nor’Easter’s are somewhat of a “love , hate” relation with present conditions proving challenging at best but as conditions subside the love usually is delivered in spades with clearer, warmer coastal waters that could provide the much needed spark to our local waters have long for.
I have this Sunday morning available 6am – 11am availble for those looking to jump aboard. Call to reserve only 609-290-1217.

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Barnegat Bay Fishing Striped Bass Report.

Reel Fantasea anglers continue to be dialed in on some of the best light tackle back bay action around. Various artificial presentation have been the the key to success along with dancing around tidal stages but if you are willing to listen, learn and “put it together” our anglers have been scoring solid bass action since mid March!

With weather looking a little formidable Friday afternoon I have Friday morning available for folks looking to hone their angling skills and jump aboard for some striped bass action that has been entertaining our anglers all season long! We will be fishing from 630am -1130am . Let me show you how tide, time, technique makes all the difference! Call to reserve only.

Best Regards,

Captain Steve Purul

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Late Report

The action continues to be rewarding for most trips but regretfully some trips did struggle due to condition and weather conditions presenting various obstacles and road blocks.

Blues continue to be a phantom with some days providing fair to good action while other days they seem to disappear into the tide.

Striped bass continue to be the best game in town with bigger striped bass showing up joining the already robust population of striped bass presently on hand.

Most of our light tackle action has been encountered in our back bays so weather is usually never a concern except for an occasional passing thunderstorm.

I will be extending our trips from 4 hour to a 5 hour and have this Friday morning available 7am -12noon and Sunday morning 7am -12noon available.

Wishing everyone fair winds and calm seas,

Captain Steve Purul

ReeL Fantasea Fishing Charters – Barnegat Bay Fishing Report – Challenging week but we still managed fish on all trips!

This week seemed like the action was primed and ready to exploded with weather warm enough to melt icebergs and even though the bass action did have it’s high with one anglers scoring bass on just about every cast for a total of just under 30 stripers  [ solo] it had it’s share of lows with a season low of 3 bass for 3 anglers .

With ocean temps still quite brisk and Friday’s robust SW winds not helping our cause getting a rhythm going was limited to small tidal windows that provided the warmest water temps we could find through the bay. Bird plays continued to help narrow the vast expanses of our bays but not every bird play had bass.

Bluefish continue to unbelievably elusive/evasive or flat out unavailable as we have yet to score with these toothed bruisers. Is this week our week? I truly hope so.

Fluke however did show promise as encounters became more and more abundant without even targeting them.  The season opener hopefully should be very rewarding if we can somehow climb out [ and stay out] of this colder than normal weather pattern.

I will be continuing to run Happy Hour trips during the weeknights 5pm -8pm and presently have Friday May 11 both a.m. 6am- 11am  and p.m. 1pm – 6pm and also Sunday May 13 6am – 11am available as well.

Wishing everyone fair winds and calm seas,

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Barnegat Bay Fishing Report

Last week fishing wasn’t what I had expected or hoped for but we did continue to catch both stripers and weakfish. Strangely bluefish continue to be mysteriously more like a phantom with only rare and random catches being reported.
Although we did  find schools of hungry schoolie stripers feeding under sizeable bird plays through out the bay making for more light tackle fun when located.
The new design run of Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters apparel [ Inshore series]  will be available sometime in June for anyone interested in getting the latest Reel Fantasea swag for themselves, friends and or family.

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Barnegat Bay Fishing Report – The only LBI charter that’s been catching since March 16th!!

The relentless cold night time temps and modest “daytime highs”  appear to have obstructed our season progression this week a bit more than I had anticipated. Although fishing remained strong for our resident population [ and likely joined newly arriving schoolie stripers] no signs of blues as of yet. With winds brisk as they have been , weather windows to try and test the nearshore waters along our beaches for larger bass has been sparse at best.

If April 23rd [ tomorrow]  comes and goes without any substantial bluefish participation/invasion this will go down as the latest I have ever caught a bluefish in my home waters in ? years – I’m not telling cause I’m vein. lol.

Albeit if catching fish and having some rod bending, drag singing fun is solely your only goal than jump aboard the Reel Fantasea for a private or open boat opportunity
to enjoy every bit of briny fun the 2018 fishing season has to offer!

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – More Solid Light Tackle Action!!

Today was another solid morning with striped bass while employing light spinning tackle . Although the wind was a bit brisk  the bass didn’t mind what so ever. Utilizing both artificial and natural baits continues to reward our anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea with double digit catches being the norm.

I have a couple of spots open for This Sunday morning and afternoon for those who want to jump in on the action.

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Open spots for Friday afternoon and Sunday morning.

Although Thursday’s weather [4/19/18] looks like wind driven rain in the forecast , Friday’s weather looks a bit better and we will be fishing 1pm – 6pm [ afternoon time rescheduled]  targeting stripers , weakfish and blues. Winds are predicted to blow NW but pose no problem for our local protected bay/inlet waters and usually produce the best action as well!

Sunday’s trip also has a couple of spots still available as well.
