Reel Fantasea Fishing Barnegat Light and Bay report!

Sorry for the late report but being somewhat tech challenged I had a few “technical difficulties ” that slowed me up for last week’s report.

First,  Thank YOU to our Military men and women who have served and continue to serve us all and allow us our daily freedoms that we generally take for granted.

Lastly my Deepest and sincerest Thank YOU! To our men and women and their families who have paid the Ultimate Sacrifice to serve and protect our homeland ,Freedoms liberties that we enjoy each and everyday.

Barnegat bay and inlet’s abundant fishery continues to offer up solid to excellent opportunities for light tackle enthusiasts with species such as blues, stripers and fluke.

Excellent Seabass action has offered up plenty of drop and reel action with black seabass and catch and release Tog for those looking for the available offshore wreck fishery available .

Trolling and snag and drop for large striped bass continues to be a hit or miss proposition with regrettably more misses than hits.

Remember to join us on Face Book and now Instagram [ work in progress] .

Also the our calendar continues to fill at a rapid pace for those looking to get in on our very sought after Fall fishery. Book and reserve today aboard the Reel Fantasea to see what our Fall “Reely” can offer!!

Lastly check out the Van Staal instagram photos that we were fortunately captured in while fishing the inlet.

Wishing everyone fair winds and calm seas,

Captain Steve Purul

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Bass, blues, Fluke and Seabass!!

The anglers aboard Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters continue to enjoy solid light tackle action with a mix of bass and blues with certain tides working better for each species.

Savvy bass aficionados with the”right touch” and “good students” have scored well on light tackle with stripers ranging 27-32″ employing a variety of artificial  lures [ some scoring double digits] while blues have been hard to avoid at times.Larger bass into the 30lbs + ranges have fallen victim to Tony Maja spoons trolled on his custom rods on wire line and live bunker snag and drop.
Add the opening of both fluke and seabass seasons by mid to late week things are about to get very interesting for those who like more variety!
On the tackle topic being part of the Pure Fishing Industries “Select Angler”

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Big Bass have arrived!!

As predicted the Westerlies delivered on the promise of “West is Best” with bigger bass making the mix to the already abundant big slammer bluefish!
Anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea scored Bass into the mid 30lbs range while employing Maja #4 Green spoons. Scaling down to the lighter spinning tackle utilizing various artificial baits continued to keep the rods bending with big slammers blues.
The week ended with the weather taking a steep tailspin with high winds and torrential rain but the wind has come back around the dial to the more favorable NW which should play well again into this up and coming week’s fishing. [finger’s crossed]
Looking forward to this week with the weather and the month of May continuing it’s progression!!!

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Another Epic Week Of Fishing Barnegat Bay!!

Another Epic week of Light Tackle action found all in the safe confines of Barnegat Bay continued to entertain anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea this week! Some Trips returned early from just plain old fatigue with sore arms and backs from “The Catchin”!!

Even after torrential rains and high winds that turned the bay into a giant fresh water run off catch basin and stained the clarity muddy brown we found the action right where we left off RED HOT!!

Big Burly blues well into the teens have continued to keep our anglers rods down and tight and drags screaming with little rest between bites. Striped bass have also spiced the catches for some of our savvy anglers as well to keep things interesting.

I’m looking with great anticipation to this week with weather looking a bit more timid with westerlies forecasted and a waxing moon. I think the bass action is going to blow wide open along our coast!!

I have a few Happy Hour Specials available this which are running 530-830pm for either open or private charter . Incoming and outgoing tides have scored heavily including the dreaded slack !

Please join us on Face Book and Like and share our daily reports.

Wishing everyone fair winds and calm seas,

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Barnegat Bay Fishing “Assault” Report! 4/30/2017

Big burly brute slammers continue their unabated assault on Barnegat Bay !

Barnegat Bay continues to offer up some of the most bountiful big slammer blue fish action to the delight of drag screaming worshipers and local [ wink , wink FishHQ] tackle shop everywhere!

All trips this week saw fast out of the gate action that continued through even slack tides which eventually led to angler arm exhaustion well before trips end! Doubles, triples, and quads hook ups were the norm for all trips all week long!

The most reliable has been chunking cut baits but poppers have scored well for those seeking explosive visual surface strike!

Want rod bending, drag screaming, visual strikes? Don’t delay and jump aboard the Reel Fantasea sailing out of historic Barnegat light’s 18th street aka Viking Village.

I have this Friday afternoon [ May 5th] 3-8pm available for open or private charter for any light tackle enthusiast looking for an afternoon of fun!

Wishing everyone fair winds and calm seas,

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – Barnegat Bay Fishing Report 4/23/17

Early Last week fishing wasn’t as easy as it has been , Blue fish were found to be elusive on some trips while others seemed abundant. Both Chunking and poppers scored the blues but not without patience and persistence. But by weeks end we found the blues responding to surface poppers making for some fantastic visual strikes!
Even what has been the most reliable action with schoolie stripers was not without it’s struggles, although we did score them on all trips . On a higher note
Cy Collins score the first keeper striped bass of the 2017 season.
The action should start to solidify more this week as we progress into the last throes of April into May.
I have a few afternoons 4pm -8pm specials available this week [ tide matches up nicely]  and both Friday morning [7am-11am]  and afternoon [2-7pm] available for either Open or Private Charter.
Wishing everyone fair winds and calm seas,

Reel Fantasea Fishing Charters – The last 2 trips were a struggle but it’s just a “matter of tide”before we’re back on’em!

The early week “Spring break special” were anything but special with the big bluefish seemingly elusive. Although Schoolie stripers continue o provide light tackle action when targeted. This time of year things progress literally in a tide change !!

I have a few spots open for tomorrow afternoon 2pm -7pm , we will be targeting stripers, blues, tog [weather permitting] ….. while utilizing various techniques and locations. All bait, tackle ,rods, …….. included $125.00pp.

My new location for the 2017 fishing season is even closer to the action, located now in historic Barnegat Light 18th street aka Viking Village .  This new location inevitably translates into more fishing time for anglers aboard the Reel Fantasea!!

C’mon jump aboard and join other light tackle enthusiast!
